The Decatur County Board of Education met last Thursday for their regularly scheduled meeting. One of the main items on the meeting agenda was the approval of a new superintendent. The Board has been looking into candidates since Tim Cochran announced his retirement earlier this year, employing a company to aid in the search. The list was eventually narrowed from 19 applicants to one candidate: Dr. Boyd English. Currently the superintendent of Albertville City Schools in Albertville, Alabama, English will officially begin his employment on July 1.
